NASH Mornings Now

Someone went to a safari park in South Africa and posted a video of some lions hanging out next to their car. But then one of the lions opens a door with its MOUTH, and tries to jump in.  Luckily they were able to shut the door and lock it, so none of them got mauled.

NASA releases cool new video of the far side of the moon.

                                                     Winter Weather Tips:

During cold weather, FEMA says take the following precautions:
•    Stay indoors as much as possible and limit your exposure to the cold;
•    Dress in layers and keep dry;
•    Check on family, friends, and neighbors who are at risk and may need additional assistance;
•    Know the symptoms of cold-related health issues such as frostbite and hypothermia and seek medical attention if health conditions are severe.
•    Bring your pets indoors or ensure they have a warm shelter area with unfrozen water.
•    Make sure your vehicle has an emergency kit that includes an ice scraper, blanket and flashlight – and keep the fuel tank above half full.
•    If you are told to stay off the roads, stay home. If you must drive, don’t travel alone; keep others informed of your schedule and stay on main roads.
For more information and tips on being ready for winter weather and extreme cold temperatures visit http://www.ready.gov/winter-weather.

Being safe isn’t just about avoiding icy falls and frostbite the windchill factor increases your danger outside.

Hypothermia happens when the body temperature drops below 95° F. Early symptoms include shivering, feeling tired, being clumsy and being confused.

Frostbite is caused by exposure to dry, cold temperatures below freezing and can result in permanent damage and tissue loss. Fingers, toes, cheeks, ear lobes and the tip of the nose are particularly vulnerable. Warning signs include numbness or tingling, stinging or pain in the area most exposed to the cold.
